IceBreaker is a daily mobile VR game to help students reduce stress during the first days of school by finding more students with a common background. The game runs in the cafeteria between 13:00 and 14:00 and offers a daily question in a particular field. Students who answer the same appear as cartoon characters in a VR world that is relevant to the answer. Then, a minute timer appears and at its end the players are asked to make a simple body gesture such as raising a hand so that a connection is made between the VR world and the physical world.
How does it work?
Upon submitting an answer to the daily question a call gets sent to our database that is supported by Google’s firebase. Then, the user is redirected to a VR world which was created with react-VR, a web based technology supporting both mobile and desktop.
